Start 2013 free and light. In this workshop we will twist and burn off the holiday excesses, preparing our minds, bodies, and spirits for a beautiful new year.
Join us as we move through this map of the subtle body; exploring the dynamic energy centers that form the Chakra system. Each Chakra reflects an aspect of consciousness essential to balance and personal growth. Using some theory and the experiential practice of Kripalu yoga you will be guided through an exploration of these energy centers that collectively unify all aspects of the self. This workshop is open to beginners, advanced yogis and everyone in between!
Starfish, Folded Leaf, Double Dog. These are some of the poses we will explore in this playful partner yoga workshop. Working with another person (friend, life partner, or stranger) can support us to get into new poses and/or help get us more deeply into poses we already know. This workshop is for people who have had some exposure to yoga. Come with or without a partner.
In the Yoga Sutras, Patañjali prescribes adherence to eight "limbs" or steps to achieve liberation. In this workshop, we will look at an overview of each "limb", what it means and how you can strengthen your own yoga path.
Learn to know and love your beautiful, powerful, and vital psoas muscle. Discovering how to work with this part of your anatomy can help alleviate lower back pain, strengthen the core, correct posture, reduce holding of past trauma, and make you feel more alive.
Yantras are visual representations of yogic attributes that can lead us towards the calm and focused minds we seek. Similar in style to Tibetan mandalas, but simpler, yantras are fun to create and beautiful to behold. In this workshop you will learn how to design a basic yantra pattern. Supplies needed: Paper with a minimum size of 12x15 inches, a mechanical pencil or pencil and sharpener, an eraser, a compass if you have one, a ruler, colored pencils, a clipboard or other surface to draw on.
Whether you are training for a marathon or just want to balance-out your running routine, yoga can help runners to stay focused, flexible, and physically strong. In this workshop, we will practice asanas that help runners strengthen their bodies and minds.
"Kripalu” means being compassionate in Sanskrit. Kripalu yoga is the practice of radical, self-acceptance. This 2 day workshop will offer experiences that explore the three stages of Kripalu Yoga: body and breath awareness, focusing inward, and meditation-in-motion. Through inquiry-based exploration, participants will learn how to be fully present in the moment to moment experience of being alive. These workshops are open to anyone who has a body!"
See above. Sign up for both Kripalu 1 and 2 together and receive a $5.00 discount.
Do yogis need to follow a strict vegetarian diet? Why do some foods make our yoga practice stronger? In this workshop, we will look at classical yoga nutrition and how to use food for energy that supports our yogic practice.
